A photograph from the UAE, Sabah Al-Rumeitha, selected her first participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair to present her work in the studio of photography with traditional Arabic lettering. She invited visitors to the exhibition to capture themselves in national attire.
Sabah Al-Rumeitha emphasized that her participation in the exhibition demonstrates the main theme she has been working on since she began engaging in photography - the heritage of the UAE, including national costumes, and presenting this heritage to the public precisely and correctly.
She noted that the selection of Abu Dhabi for the exhibition was influenced by its reputation as a platform that gathers participants and visitors from all over the world, which contributes to cultural exchange and traditions. The national costume plays an important role in local identity and culture.
Sabah began her photographic activity in 2016, focusing on the same theme. She noted that she encountered challenges and provocations when she started photographing men in traditional attire, often presented solely by men. Nevertheless, thanks to perseverance, she was able to prove her capabilities in this field.
Her specialization in photography related to heritage gave her the opportunity to participate in exhibitions and events both within the country and outside its borders. Sabah expressed hope for international participation to promote her country's heritage to the world.
